How do I go about compressing down a vid clip using DIVX compression? I have TMPEnc, but it doesn't do the job. I remember seeing that clip you did of your old tour footage, and was impressed with how small you got the file size.
Is there a utility you know besides Premiere that can do that?

Trying to compress this file down for a buddy of mine who wants to put it on his website. it's a .mov file.

    Cheers!

The program I use to covert (any) format into
DivX, is Dr.DivX. It's downloadable and fully-
functional for 15 days from www.divx.com
You can request an extension when the 15 days
    or up.

    3 minutes later...

I tried putting your .mov into the 'Dr.', but
he didn't like it - so hopefully you have the
.AVI version still. I am currently fiddling
around with it PPro, so I may have news for you
    later.

I've managed to re-encode the .mov version as
DivX, and got the file size down to 8.7 megs.
Naturally there's been a few concessions, like
lower audio quality and the dimensions are slightly
smaller too. If your email's able to receive 9
megs worth of stuff, let me know.

    Chrs,

    Great!...thanks for the info D.

I'm downloading DrDivx right now. I'll give er' a whirl tonight. TMPEnc can encode .mov to Avi or MPEG so I may try that if it doesn't work right away.

    Thanks again for the advice.

Good luck. (I've read your PM, by the way.)

I'll keep my 8meg version laying around until
    I here otherwise from you.
